Ingredients:
- Raw Lentils (3 cups)
- Water or Beef Broth (9 cups)
- Kosher Salt (1 TBSP)
- Tomato Paste (1/2 TBSP or 1 & 1/2 tsp)
- Masalá Powder (1 TBSP)
- Olive Oil (2 tsp)
Directions:
- In a medium-sized pot, add lentils, water, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil for 15-20 minutes or ‘til lentils are tender.
- Strain lentils using a colander and bowl underneath (to catch the remaining lentil-broth).
- In a large sauté pan on medium-high heat, add in olive oil, lentils, tomato paste, and Masala. Mix and mash the lentils into the pan using a masher or fork until a desired consistency is reached.
- Add 1/3 cup of lentil-broth to the pan and mix together.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
This recipe serves an ideal portion for (2-3) people.
